The last two Saturdays have seen Selsey RNLI busy on shore rather than at sea. Saturday 12th March saw the station personel get together for the first time in over two years at the Selsey Golf club. With the station President Al Rymer attending the function it was a good time to present some long service badges to Mechanic Phil Pitham (23 years), James Albrey (22 years) and Will Moir (21 years). Colvin Rae was presented with a framed Certificate of Service. Before retiring in 2019 Colvin was Deputy Launch Authority 2007-2019, Lifeboat Sea Safety Officer 2011-2017, and Branch Chairman 2012-2019.
On Saturday 19th March the station had a visit from The High Sheriff of West Sussex, Neil Hart DL, with his wife, Ros. Both are keen sailors so showed a great interest in aspects of the station chatting to the station personel before a guided tour of the boathouse and Lifeboats. Neil kindly agreed to present Dr. Mike Lacey with his framed Certificate of Service. Dr Lacey served as Deputy Lifeboat Medical Adviser 1991-2002 and Lifeboat Medical Adviser 2003-2019.
